Health Protocols of Tourism Businesses
Greece is presenting an updated certification seal – named “Health First” – which will be mandatory for all hotels and other tourist accommodation establishments in the country. The seal, which will assure that a hotel complies with the announced health protocols, must be displayed in the reception area.
The health protocols for tourism have been examined and updated following consultations between the Tourism Ministry, the National Public Health Organization (EODY), the Health Ministry, the Covid-19 committee of experts and
tourism sector bodies.
The specifications for the operation of Greece’s hotels this season apply to all types of tourist accommodation establishments regardless of technical and operational features, classification, type and duration of the operation.
Hotels are obliged to develop an action plan to prevent the occurrence and to provide effective management of suspicious cases in order to protect staff and guests from exposure.
Specific measures are also in force in all common use areas, kitchens, restaurants, playgrounds, spa services and
swimming pools.
