In Athitos village, known as Afytis in the ancient times, there are the privately owned wineries of Galani-Papaefthymiou family or Afyteon Gaia winery. The family, cultivated since 2012 bio local and cosmopolitan grape varieties, aiming at high quality wines, due to the low yield per acre.

The carefully selected position and orientation of the vineyards, the ideal territorial composition and the required ventilation of the vines, as well as the low yield per acre, there are cultivated local varieties such as Malagouzia, Asyrtiko and Moschato Alexandrias from the white ones, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, the local Limnio from the red ones. In an experimental basis there is cultivated and wined for the first time the white European variety Cabernet Blanc.
