Location: From Thessaloniki 130km - From Polygyros 55km
Built at the narrowest point of the Athos peninsula, Nea Roda, is the largest of the refugee villages of northern Halkidiki, known for the great Xerxe’s Canal.
The canal was 12 stades in length (about 2.900m) and was wide enough to fit two triremes.
Nea Roda has beautiful landscapes and golden shores, plenty of taverns, bars and accommodation, too. Campers, you will love that place!
