Imagine being surrounded by oak trees, watermills, and the sound of water running through a spring...
Well, that’s Doumpia for you! Built at the base of mountain Curtina, the population of this village is just 450 residents!
The semi-mountainous village Doumpia of Halkidiki, houses the famous spring of Agioi Apostoloi, a spring of carbonated natural mineral water. According to tradition, Apostle Paul spent some time there and blessed the waters that helped him regain his strength and continue on his course.
While visitors will enjoy walking along with the spring and admiring the nature, it’s good to know that at 3 km north of the village, excavations by the archaeological service have revealed part of the city of the Kalindos archives.
