UPDATED: Entering the Greek Land Borders

All border stations are open!

[Latest update: December 13th, 2021]

Travellers are allowed to enter from the land borders through the entry gates of Promachonas, Ormenio, Evzonoi, Nymfaia, Niki, Doirani, Kristallopigi, Kipi*, Kakavia, Kastanies* and Exohi on a 24h basis.

*For Kipi and Kastanies land borders, there is a limit of 1500 passengers per week.

All travellers (including children over the age of 12) entering Greece are obliged to present upon arrival a negative molecular test result (PCR) for COVID-19, performed up to 72 hours or a RAPID test performed 48 hours before their entry to Greece or certification of vaccination.

Only travellers who carry a certificate of a negative RT-PCR test result, a negative RAPID test or a vaccination certificate will be allowed by the border authorities to enter the country. The certificates should be written in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian and bear the name and passport/national ID number of the traveller.

All visitors entering Greece will be required to fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF), at least 24 hours before they arrive, whether by air, sea or land. In this form, travellers will fill in information about their departure location, the address of their destination, their expected stay in Greece, and other details that may be required.
For more info, see here.

Every traveller who arrives in Greece, regardless of the certificate he carries, may undergo a random health check. If selected, the check is mandatory. Otherwise, we reserve the right to refuse entry into the country. The selection is made through a targeted sampling system, based on the EVA system used in the summer of 2020.
