There is a long rocky coastline on the east side of Sithonia and the Mount Athos Area (3rd peninsula), interrupted by small enclaves of well-hidden sandy beaches thus creating an astonishing natural environment, especially when explored by boat (like Kriaristi beach, Kavourotrypes beach – Sarti, Kakoudia beach - East Coast).

And even though, only 10% of the beaches in Halkidiki are made of rocks and pebbles, the shape of these formations are extraordinary! Over time they are worn smooth from being rolled around by waves. These rocks reflect the local geology.
